On mountain medical centre

If your day doesn't quite go to plan, our on mountain Medical Centre can help you get back on the snow as quickly as possible.

We provide emergency care and medical treatment at the ski area, and have experienced doctors, nurses, and radiographers on site.

Where to find us

Our on mountain medical centre is open in our winter season, when the ski area is open (from June - October). The centre is open seven days a week, from 8:30am - 4:30pm each day.

Find us in the base area, in the Iwikau building, beside the barrier arm to the platinum parking area.

What we offer

Our medical centre provides quality emergency care and medical treatment to those who have experienced an injury or unforeseen medical event, whilst visiting Whakapapa and the surrounding areas. We have x-ray facilities on site, allowing us to identify injuries and provide treatment onsite, often preventing the need for a trip to an Emergency Department. We can arrange referrals to other medical facilities, including patient's local hospitals, if required. We also stock a range of over the counter medications and pharmacy products for your convenience.

Who can use our services?

Anyone! If you experience an injury or medical event while visiting Whakapapa or the surrounding areas, come in and see us. We are help to help.

When you arrive, you will be seen and triaged by a Registered Nurse and you will see a Doctor in order of urgency.

Pricing

Our medical centre is subsided by ACC but to support our operational costs on mountain, there is a surcharge on the medical care you receive. The surcharge depends on the treatment you receive, and includes discounts for community services card holders and children.
